john morrow Optimists: Morrow gets Presidential Citation Moline, IL—John Morrow received the International President's Citation for Outstanding Club Member 2009-10 by President Mark Shriver of Optimists International. The Optimists club is a civic organization for youth. Locally, the Optimists raise about $50,000 annually for various children's charities in the Quad Cities. Morrow is a past president of the Quad Cities Morning Optimists and now serves as the club's speaker/chairman. He is active in many local fundraising efforts, such as the Parade of Flags, the Optimists Golf Tournament and Pushups for Peace. The citation, signed by International President Mark Shriver, reads: "In the history of every club there is one member said to embody the spirit and essence of optimism, who has been the club's inspiration and has done the most to advance optimism in the club and the community." Morrow is the owner of Morrow's Academy of Martial Arts in Moline, Illinois. He is the recipient of numerous civic and martial arts honors.
