Morrow makes Ripley's 'Believe It Or Not'

John Morrow, the Quad-Cities martial arts instructor who was awarded a Guinness World Record in 2006, is now listed in the latest edition of Ripley's Believe It Or Not, The Remarkable.Revealed. According to Ripley's, Morrow of Ottumwa, Iowa, was sitting in a waiting room at the doctor's office when he read a magazine article about great feats of strength. He immediately set out to surpass those feats and in May 2006 completed 123 backward-hands push-ups (where the wrist is at a 90-degree angle) in one minute. Morrow says the key to his success is a 40-day fast that he takes each spring. Morrow's Academy of Martial Arts is located at 1321 5th Ave., Moline. His web site is www.morrowsacademy.com.
