enrollment At age 56, Morrow still has it!

John Morrow can do more than just push-ups. The owner of Morrow's Academy of Martial Arts in Moline, who has set several world records doing push-ups in recent years, spent last weekend beating up on someone a third his age. The 56 year-old Morrow defeated 17-year-old sparring champion Mike Fink in an exhibition match at the Metamora Martial Arts Open. Fink competes in the 215 pound class. Morrow weighs 190 pounds. Morrow actually placed first in all four categories in the 35-over division, winning for empty hands forms, weapons forms, sparring and place for breaking, then defeated the grand champions in all the other divisions. Morrow said he had a stack of 5-year-old self-hypnosis tapes he'd never listened to before but after waking up early Saturday, he took them out of the cellophane and popped them into his cassette player. "After that I went to the competition and just blasted through everything", he said.
